Sb meeting tonight

you dont change the name of a school that's been around forever. Old school=old name
new school=new name. Ppl. had ther say already.. they voted for BoS & SB members because they don't want new schools, therefore, no new names.

To me I think it is more than a little funny that if the county HAD went with the Bashham plan YEARS ago insted of buying out his contract it is VERY Likley that enough pressure could have been put on the BOS to build new schools (Somewhere Basham is having a good laugh)

Counts, you just made a lot of sense with this. Had the SB consolidated with Basham, then we would have new schools by now. Most board member back then were for consolidation, they just didn't like the way he brought it up. That IS what he was hired for, to be a consolidation superintendent. He just brought it up too soon.

I attended the meeting for the first 2 1/2 hours and it was really a terrible mess. I was dissappointed that they voted to let the public speak. Nothing new can be said. As was stated the Kingsport, "just do it."

Powell Valley and JJ Kelly will remain the same until the new schools are built, and then a new name should be attached.

Lol watching some "public expression" on channel 10 right now, you know who is up there and just as nutty. "I don't like my grandkids being held hostage. Mark that down!"

Kid from Pound just said, with his mother by his side, that he wouldn't go to Wise and he might just drop out.

what a terrible, sad situation.


but until parents get it thru their stupid heads that this will only benefit the kids, it will still be a mess.
its sad that some parents, people with childen in school, are willing to sacrifice a better education because they want to be DAWGS or WILDCATS. its really, really sad.

Easy Solution come to J.I. Burton!

This proposal didn't include shutting down St. Paul High School. It had been part of all the other scenarios. Anyone have any ideas about this??

Its the newest HS in the county?
